The children have been exploring paint this week - painting boxes, pictures, their arms, hands and even painted with mud. There has been lots of filling and pouring, using water and salt. We have looked after babies, been on secret missions and been working together in the mud kitchen. The children showed great resilience when their concoctions repeatedly fell off the stove ‘oh my, we’ll have to pick it up again.’ We had our first fire of the term, learning about how to keep ourselves safe around the fire and ended the week, as you do, with a banana party!
We have been welcoming more new children into nursery this week and they are all settling in well. It is wonderful to see children beginning to build a special relationship with their key person, forming new friendships and working together. A favourite moment this week was hearing two children shouting ‘You can do it, you can do it!’ to their friend as they watched him carefully carry his ‘cake’ to the ‘oven’ willing him not to drop the conkers that were precariously balanced on top. (He did make it!) The children have poured tea, made dough, been practising their scissor skills and even found time to do the washing up. Have a lovely weekend and we look forward to meeting more new friends next week.
Hello! We hope you all had a wonderful summer. We are excited to welcome back our returning children as well as welcoming all our new children and their families who will be joining us soon. The children are settling back into nursery life and have been busy exploring the environment. They have counted conkers, blown bubbles and built with blocks. Some children enjoyed a trip out on the minibus to the local woodland to look for signs of autumn whilst collecting sticks and leaves. We hope you are all looking forward to the year ahead and we can’t wait to share all the exciting things we get up to through this blog. If you have any questions please feel free to come in and talk to any member of the team, who will be more than happy to help.
