The children have been busy this week creating crowns, cutting up catalogues to compile their Christmas wish lists and lots of talk about what Santa might bring. Sleighs have been created out of blocks and chairs and there has been lots of sensory exploration using play dough, glitter and rice, all in bright colours with sparkles to prompt lots of descriptive language. We have seen lots of patterns being created at the light table, on the projector and one group of children spent a very long time arranging matchsticks into a variety of patterns and shapes. The children have loved hiding out in the ‘ice cave,’ sharing books and chatting to each other. Oded brought in his ‘Hanukkiah’ and lit the candles to teach the children about Hanukkah, the Jewish festival of lights and we have been very busy practising our Christmas songs ready for next week.
