Here are a few of the things we’ve been up to in the last week of this term. Our new children are settling in well and it’s been lovely to see them growing in confidence. We’ve had bubbles, booby traps in the sand and fish in the mud kitchen this week. We have been looking closely at daffodils and painting what we see. The children have enjoyed climbing and balancing in the garden. Thank you for all your support this term as we try and secure funding for the future of nursery schools. Whether you wrote to our local MP or signed the petition, we are very grateful. Please read our spring newsletter that you should be receiving soon, which has details of an online petition to sign. Have a wonderful half term, with love from all of us at Hampden Way.
And just to end the term, I’d just like to share these photos of one boy, who worked tirelessly for an hour and a half to build this amazing ‘lava making machine.’ The lava making machine was all his own idea and as he worked, he found ways to solve problems, such as building a staircase to reach higher. He tested his ideas, checked that his tower was stable. He absolutely had a plan, he worked decisively and with purpose, knowing exactly what he needed to do to reach his goal, checking and changing strategy as needed. It was an absolute pleasure and privilege to watch him working with such focus and determination. Fabulous!
