This week the children have shown an interest in boats – building them out of Lego, researching them using the ipad, designing and trying to create them out of paper. It has been great to see them testing out their ideas and changing strategy when things don’t quite go to plan. Shadows are still being explored inside and outside leading to lots of comparisons eg. ‘My legs are longer’ and ‘your hands are the biggest.’ It was also exciting as we found our first pieces of ice in the garden with the children working together and using lots of different strategies to break it. Children are interested in writing names and there has even been some Jedi writing going on with light sabres!
In Rainbow room there has been lots of interest in babies – bathing, changing and hair washing. The children have been developing their physical skills in many different ways from crawling to digging and getting lovely and messy as they enjoy the sensory experience of using their hands to explore paint.
