Wow, what a space-tastic week we’ve had! The children ended last week building rockets and this interest has developed over the week. There has been lots of role play and retelling of favourite stories such as ‘Whatever Next,’ space writing on foil, mark making in moon dust and using recycled materials to create rockets, controllers and jet packs. This led on to learning about planets and reading ‘Aliens love underpants,’ with the children drawing and creating their own planets and aliens. There have also been lots of sensory experiences ranging from spaghetti to soapy sand and large scale colour mixing with brooms in the garden. The children helped to clear out a shed in the garden, which they then helped to paint, using ladders to reach the high bits, creating a cosy space for them to sit and chat. We have also enjoyed sitting around the fire, cooking bananas and popcorn. What a busy week! Please feel free to comment below as we would love to hear your thoughts on what we’ve been up to.
