The cold weather has not stopped the children being busy outside. They are still very interested in water and colour mixing, so they have been using spray bottles and powder paints to create some wonderful art in the garden. The children have also enjoyed exploring the snow and ice in the garden and adding colour to it. Inside, it has been wonderful to see the children using their newly acquired woodwork skills. They are now independently using palm drills, screwdrivers and hammers to join pieces of wood together, adding wooden discs, beads and bottle tops. They have taken their creations to the painting table for further decoration. We have seen a fleet of fire engines and one little boy was very proud of his creation, explaining ‘it’s a stage, the nails are the people’ - such creative thinking!
