It has been another busy week at nursery and our new children are settling in well. The children have enjoyed lots of sensory experiences from making music and blowing bubbles to exploring tea, coffee and paint. We have looked at shapes on the light box and matched them in the block area. There have been some wonderful structures created with blocks, creations with tape and boxes and even a story train made from chairs, which have all involved lots of planning, cooperative play and listening to each others ideas. The children have baked chocolate cookies and were independent in making toast, using knives to spread butter and jam. Outside there was lots of fun being had on the body boards. The children connected them together, encouraging each other when they felt a little unsure and working out how to go faster.
In Rainbow room, the children have enjoyed lots of small world play, from Peppa Pig, boats in the water tray and parking cars in their box garage. There has been role play with babies, buggies and cooking with play dough. The children have also been busy constructing with magnetic shapes and blocks – just look at that wonderful drum and those lovely glasses!
